56ers (Pre-Teen)

middle school junior highers

These are important years… and tough ones.

It’s why every 5th & 6th grader needs a tribe. 56ers is a preteen middle school group.

The 56ers is a uniquely designed ministry aimed at meeting the needs of students in 5th and 6th grades.  It is for students that are moving from Sunday School,  into a more active role in church.  We work to provide a comfortable atmosphere for students to ask their questions.  These are the years when young people begin to shift from a faith given to them to a faith that is their own.  Certainly, this is a special season.

Each month, students spend two Sundays a month sitting together in the main service.  The other two Sundays a month, students have a small group.  During those weeks we focus on three main topics:

1. What it means to be made in the likeness of Christ
2. How salvation is accomplished, worked out, and applied in the lives of Christ followers
3. How Scripture teaches us to become more like Jesus

We hope that these two years spent together (both on Sunday mornings and also quarterly activities outside of church throughout the year) will lead to strong friendships and lasting memories!

Parents:  Do you have questions about how this preteen middle school group fits in your family?  Please reach out.  Amy has been leading this special group for several years and would love to discuss 5th and 6th grade ministry.  Why serving in the church is so important for a middle schooler.  How we are preparing students for a lifelong connection to faith in Jesus and a healthy relationship with the church.
