A Note from Pastor Jason
Hello.
Thanks for checking out Water City Church.
Maybe you’re a bit like me in that when it comes to church. You’ve “Been there. Done that.” And it’s left you wondering, “Is this all there is?”
Water City began in 2007 for people looking for something more than busyness and self-help wrapped in spiritual talk. People who can’t understand why churches started turning down the lights when they started turning up the stage volume. Water City Church Oshkosh is for people who are tired of politics first and Jesus second or even third. With so many losing their minds over right and left, we are a church that still believes Jesus meant it when he said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit and the mourners and the ones who are left hungry and thirsty for true life after having seen enough of the angry alpha religious leadership culture.”
Life is messy.
God’s love is calling and there’s a place for you with this bunch of ragamuffins who haven’t given up on the hope of Christ.

What To Expect
A Relaxed and Welcoming Environment
You don’t need to dress up to fit in here. Most folks come in jeans and a hoodie. Come as you are.
Biblical Teaching
Each week, we open the Bible (take one from the cart in the back) and teach through Scripture in a clear, practical, and Christ-centered way. Our aim is not simply to give information, but to help people follow Jesus in everyday life.
Worship
Our services include casual worship through music, prayer, Scripture reading, and teaching. We aim for worship that is thoughtful, authentic, and centered on Jesus.
Service Length
A typical Sunday gathering lasts about 75–85 minutes.
For Families
Water City Kids
We’re all about families and want children to feel safe, known, and excited to come to church. Elementary children stay with their parents for the singing (20-ish minutes) and are then dismissed to go with their friends to the kids’ church. Nursery and preschool are available for the whole service. Kids ministry at Water City is screen-free, age-appropriate classes that focus on moving through the Bible and the big story of God.
Our volunteers are trained and background checked.
Nursing Moms & Overflow Space
If you need a quieter space during the service for nursing, restless little ones, or a quick break, we have overflow seating available downstairs with the service livestreamed.
Parking
Parking is available on-street, as well as in a common lot near the building. If you need help finding the entrance or have mobility concerns, our team would be happy to assist you. Just drop us a message.
Coffee & Conversation
Come a few minutes early or stick around afterward for coffee and conversation. We’d love the chance to meet you, answer any questions, or help you get connected.

Not at all. You’re welcome here whether you are exploring faith, skeptical, returning to church, or have followed Jesus for years.
No. We will not ask visitors to stand up or do anything uncomfortable. But we do invite you to grab a Water City pint glass as a thank you for coming out.
While we always say, “The best translation is the one you will actually read,” Jason usually teaches from the NIV.
